Here are some fun things you can do in Chicago on the first day of summer in 2023 and beyond:

Explore the Beaches

Chicago has some of the best beaches in the country, including Oak Street Beach, North Avenue Beach, and Montrose Beach. Spend the day soaking up the sun, playing volleyball, and enjoying the water.

Take an Architecture Boat Tour

Hop on a boat and take a tour of Chicago’s famous skyscrapers and bridges. Learn about the history and design of the city while enjoying breathtaking views along the Chicago River.

Visit the Lincoln Park Zoo

Head over to the Lincoln Park Zoo to see a variety of animals, including tigers, bears, and monkeys, and enjoy the beautiful gardens and walking trails.

Walk or Bike along the Lakefront Trail

Take a stroll or ride your bike along Chicago’s 18-mile Lakefront Trail, which offers stunning views of Lake Michigan, the skyline, and some of the city’s top attractions.

Attend a Summer Music Festival

    Oh, Chicago is one of my favorite cities! At least I can check off two of your suggested activities: the architectural boat tour was super interesting and entertaining, and we were enthusiastic about Lincoln Park Zoo. If I remember correctly, the visit was even free of charge! There was some festival going on, and we got to watch an air show at Navy Pier. We had so much fun!

    This post brings back memories of my younger days. I lived in Milwaukee, but I visited Chicago quite a bit! I loved going to the Taste of Chicago!
